Franco Della Mura says:
I remember a story that my father mentioned to me a very long time ago.  My father who lived with his parents in Aversa, used to attend a market, where he would take home grown produce and sell at the local market, my father would regularly pass by a prison camp.  One day after finishing work, he recalled having a surplus crate of fruit which he had.  On passing the war camp, my father had noticed how some of the POWs looked weak and under nourish.  He threw over the fence a crate of fruit, this was witnessed by a German guard, to his annoyance he shouted over to my father, I presume in German, probably at the displeasure of the father's humane gesture. This is the information I can recall.  I hope this may assist in developing your website.  It would be nice to hear whether anyone recalls this incident.
